#20 Ron Moore
Head Coach
Ron Moore is in his 10th year at Deer Creek High School. During his first 9 years as the head coach he has directed the Antlers to six state tournaments, six regional championships and five district championships.  The Antlers have been to the state tournament in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.  Deer Creek moved up to Class 5A in 2007 and has been to the state tournament each year. The 2009 team finished the season with a record of 28-9.  With 8 returning starters they look to make another run in 2010. Over the last ten years Moore has record of 215-129 and has had four All-State players.  He has also helped over 20 players go on to play college baseball.

The Antlers have had a lot of team success over the past nine years.  When you have this success sometimes individual awards will begin to surface.  The 2009 season brought two of these awards.  John Hundley Field was named the “FIELD OF THE YEAR” by the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association.  Also Coach Moore was named the Pro-line Baseball “Coach Of The Year” for the state of Oklahoma.

Ron Moore came to Deer Creek in 2000 after coaching college baseball for eight years. Prior to Deer Creek he was the hitting instructor at West Virginia University. In his first season his hitters produced a .358 batting average that ranked 2nd in the nation. Prior to WVU, Moore was an assistant coach for Tom Holiday at Oklahoma State. He also served coaching stints at Arkansas-Little Rock and the University of Arkansas.

As a player, Moore was a three sport regular at Western Heights High School. He was an All-City Quarterback in football, and an All-State Outfielder in baseball. After high school, Moore played one year at Oklahoma State and three years at the University of Arkansas. At Arkansas he was a member of two Southwest Conference Championship teams. He also played on two regional tournament teams and the 1989 Razorback team that advanced to the College World Series.

Ron Moore graduated from University of Arkansas in 1991 with a BSE in Kinesiology. He also has a Masters degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University. He is married to Melissa (Missy), from Rogers, Arkansas, and they have a five year old daughter named Katie Grace.  “I thank God everyday for bringing Katie & Missy into my life. I have truly been blessed with these two beautiful girls."
 



Coach Holman is entering his first year at Deer Creek High School. He has coached high school baseball in Oklahoma for seven years. Coach Holman comes to Deer Creek after a two year stint as the head baseball coach at Putnam City West High School. Prior to that he spent four years on the staff at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

In the summer of 2006, Coach Holman led the Santa Fe AAA American Legion to the state tournament and followed that up with an American Legion State Championship in the summer of 2007. He helped guide the Wolves to 4 OSSAA state tournament appearances in his 4 years there.

In the summer of 2009, JP coached for the Oklahoma City Ambassadors, a ministry baseball team founded in honor of 2002 OSSAA Baseball Player of the Year Justin Sullivan. The Ambassadors spent the summer traveling the country telling the tragic story of Justin, and playing in elite tournaments. The summer ended with a mission trip to Saltillo, Mexico where the Ambassadors went   7-0 against Minor League players from the Mexican League.

Coach Holman played two years at the University of Central Oklahoma. During that time, the Bronchos won the Lone Star Conference twice and made two trips to the NCAA Regional tournament.

Holman is a 2001 graduate of Hereford High School in Hereford, Texas where he played football, basketball and baseball. He helped lead the Herd to the state playoffs all 4 years in all 3 sports. The highlight of which was playing in Texas Stadium for the Class 4A State Football Championship his Junior Season.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall of 2005. He currently teaches Geometry at Deer Creek High School.

He met his wife LeAnna while in college. They were married in Las Vegas in the summer of 2005. Coach Holman says “Thank you Leanna for being my rock. I could never have come this far as a coach or person without you in my life. I thank God for blessing me with you.”
